Hi you guys I’m kinda stuck on writing my thesis. I intended to talk about the trend in Canadian life expectancy since mid 20th century but now I think it might be too factual and something non-debatable. Also it might be too broad too. Im not sure how to twist this idea to make it an appropriate thesis like I was thinking of maybe giving some ideas on what I think has accounted for the improved lifespan Canadians now enjoy… but again talking about vaccines or universal health coverage etc might be too big of a topic for a 1500 word research essay

A proof-reader can let you know if you need to revise, to edit a particular section, or simply if a further argument is needed to demonstrate a point that falls a little flat. Sometimes we may know that a chapter, or section needs a little work, but tell ourselves ‘it’s ok’. A second viewer can convince us to make those changes!
A thesis must not only make an assertion about the topic; it must make a debatable or controversial claim about the topic. The example in the previous detail section (What is a working thesis?) about wolverines possesses the two key ingredients of a thesis, but its assertion is boring and rather obvious. A stronger thesis might state:First, students who need to know how to make a thesis should begin by identifying a topic, choosing a perspective to argue on some aspect of that topic, and performing all the research necessary to support that perspective persuasively. Students should conduct thorough research in a thesis project; for example, they should not hesitate to perform any primary research that may be helpful, such as running original experiments, or to request research materials from other libraries.
